Caring for woollen products

Caring for woollen items is not difficult, just different to caring for items made from synthetic materials.

The first method is to soak the product in water, following three simple steps. Step one: soak the item in the bath, using warm water (up to 30 °C) with a wool detergent, and gently knead it with spread fingers. Step two: drain the water from the bath and rather than wringing out the item, use your hands to squeeze out the excess water. Step three: let the item dry naturally. This will take longer, but your care will be rewarded. Do not dry it in direct sunlight, on a direct heat source (e.g. a radiator) or in a drier. Washing wool too frequently or incorrect care may cause it to become matted, or accelerate this process.

An alternative method is to have the product cleaned by an authorised dry cleaning service.
